March 22, 2010 - OWNERS II Available for Tailings and Waste Rock Reporting
OWNERS II, an updated version of OWNERS, is now available – this first phase of OWNERS II will be used only for reporting of the new tailings and waste rock information to NPRI (see note below for more information). Note that reporting of all other NPRI information for the 2009 reporting year, as well as updates to previously submitted reports, will be done through the current OWNERS application. For links to the two different reporting applications, please proceed to the Register/Log-in page of this website.
February 20, 2010 - OWNERS 2009 Available
OWNERS is now available for you to begin working on your 2009 reports. Please visit the Getting Started page for information on how to successfully register with OWNERS and use the system.

December 2009 - New Reporting Requirements in Place for Tailings and Waste Rock
Environment Canada has published, through the Canada Gazette, Part I, new requirements for reporting on tailings and waste rock for the 2006–2009 reporting years, with a reporting deadline of June 1, 2010. This new information is to be reported through a new reporting application (OWNERS II), which will be launched in March 2010 – more information will be provided when the new system is launched. The remainder of NPRI reporting for 2009 will be done through the existing OWNERS application.

December 22, 2008 - Reporting to Metro Vancouver for Air Quality Management Bylaw 1082
Due to changing business needs, Metro Vancouver (GVRD) is no longer a partner in OWNERS. Companies holding an Air Quality Management Permit with Metro Vancouver will be able to submit their required operational reports for the 2008 calendar year (due March 31, 2009) directly to Metro Vancouver commencing in February, 2009. A web link will be posted here as soon as it is available. Please call 604-436-6777 if you have any questions.
December 22, 2008 - New NPRI Reporting Requirement for the 2008 Reporting Year
The NPRI has added the following reporting activity for dioxins, furans, and hexachlorobenzene: titanium dioxide pigment production using chloride process. Please consult the 2008 Canada Gazette notice with respect to substances in the National Pollutant Release Inventory, published February 16, 2008 for all reporting requirements. The notice is available on the NPRI website at http://www.ec.gc.ca/pdb/npri/npri_cgaz_e.cfm.
November 26, 2008 - Attention all Quebec facilities
The ministère du Développement durable, de l'Environnement et des Parcs du Québec (MDDEP) is working together with Environment Canada in order to facilitate mandatory reporting on the part of Québec facilities further to the adoption of the Regulation respecting mandatory reporting of certain emissions of contaminants into the atmosphere.
